The Official Insecurity Thread

Just joined forums and wanted to add my own insecurities:

1. Commitment... I love the idea of commitment in theory. In practice, it fucking terrifies me. I'm perfectly happy being single, but I'm so used to that lifestyle that it's made me selfish when it comes to others' needs. I panic when a guy shows even remote interest in dating me, because the second any form of commitment is involved I feel trapped.

2. Ending up alone... again, right now I love being unattached. It's 30 years from now I'm worried about. I usually don't obsess about this, but it creeps in my mind every time I hear another friend is getting engaged.

3. Showing vulnerability... It's taken me a long time to accept that just because I'm not a prissy girl doesn't mean I can't be emotional. For so long I tried to hide my true feelings- whether by lying about them or deflecting them with sarcasm- because I didn't want to appear weak or "nagging". I've finally gotten a little better at just admitting when something bothers me, but I still have plenty of room for improvement.
