Internet racists, representative of Western society?

So after being on Forum Bodybuilding, Yahoo Answers, and one other forum, I can say SAFELY that racism is REALLY ALIVE.

Having lived in the deep south, I can say it REALLY EXISTS.

Anyways, the racism I have seen on the internet has been extremely heavy, like REALLY BAD. REALLY REALLY REALLY BAD.

Now you can say it is just some people and some loons but given the power of anonymity it makes me think sometimes, could it be that MOST people in real life are as racist as people on yahoo answers but just too afraid to say it?
