It's a country run by whores, idiots, gangland thieves and villagers that can't comprehend or understand the concept of civilization. The people are, as someone once put it are "thick, greedy, malicious, and pathetic on biblical proportions". I'm saying this out my own observations and facts.
Hey, that's pretty much how me and my expat friends refer to our home country. I kid you not.
When we last had elections here the most discussed and polarizing subject was the eurozone bailouts. Can you guess which giant bailout was being discussed at the time of the elections? Yup, my home country's loan. I've even got asked a couple of times by girls in bars about it.
The day after the elections, I was interviewed by two radio networks both wanting me to confirm that "our country had been the main subject of the elections." I told them that this had nothing to do with our country and everything to do with the local politics, but then I turned the radio and there they kept going "our country was the main subject of discussion in the elections of this other country and provoked a shift in power..."
You see, they had already a story to sell to their audience and nothing I could say or facts I could present would change that. If it wasn't about us how could they make much of an issue and justify the coverage?
And it's the same with you, isn't it? You have this story you tell to yourself and nothing we could tell or show you will make a difference. You don't want to give up your story.
Ultimately it is up to you which story you will tell yourself. Do you wanna tell a story of a miserable country that shames you and makes you a victim? Or do you wanna tell a story of a struggling country with lots of potential and misused resources that inspires you to be a man of character and hard work?
Your pick.
