What if you come from a third world country?

From everything I know Bangladesh is in fact one of the most dysfunctional countries in the world. I had a bangladeshi friend in high school who moved from Bangladesh to Iran to the US and said that Iran was this amazing place compared to Bangladesh.

But, it seems like people who leave there do well. That's America. Ireland was the most fucked up country in Europe 100 years ago, but Irish people who moved here did well.
