The One (lost love)

So lately I've just been thinking about love and whatnot and if anyone here has had one girl in their life who gave them the kind of emotions that they think they won't be able to get from (m)any other woman. Kind of like the character of the DJ in Mark's Butchering the Alpha Malehttp://postmasculine.com/butchering-the-alpha-male (BtAM) article. If not, then if anyone's had that in the past and can explain how they got over it, why "The One" is bullshit. Also, if there isn't "The One," is there "The Few." How abundant are women that are so compatible with each man that they'll be able to feel for her what Jay from BtAM felt for his high school sweetheart? Is Jay's problem a legitimate one?

The most I was ever hurt by a girl was when my first girlfriend left me. I was completely paralyzed in regard to women for maybe two years, pondering about what I did do wrong, why she left me, and how I should continue living now that the one true love I ever had had gone out of my life.

Then I found out about PU-stuff, figured out why she left me, that I behaved like a weeny. Figuring that out also helped me to see that

a) I probably won't die alone
b) She wasn't that great, either. Sure, she was great, she was fun and intelligent, but she had her share of flaws which I just couldn't see before, because I was seeing her as the one true love of my life, the perfect girl.

Maybe there even is this one magical women out there that will be perfect for you and make you happy for the rest of your life. But ask yourself: If she is The One, if she really is perfect for you, than why would she break up with you? If you two were perfect for each other you probably would fight some times, but never to the point of breaking up.

As for The Few: I think this is what Mark means when he writes about Demographics: Some when are just not attracted to you and never will be, some are attracted to you but you are not to them, sometimes the attraction is mutual, but only short lived, etc. etc.
Some women you will have an amazing time with, but all of them probably will have at least one characteristic you don't like that much.

Okay. So Jay's just a delusional dumbass who wants to wallow in his sorrows and is scared of letting go of the girl to direct his emotions to another? Huh, sounds similar to the "monogamous to mother" concept from No More Mr. Nice Guy. Alright. That's encouraging.
