What are the best free resources online for antivirus and spyware scanning?

Super AntiSpyware, Malwarebyes, and Microsoft Security Essentials. I pretty much use a combo of those three (and Adblock and generally staying off shady sites) and my PCs have run pretty clean the last year or two.

Thank you man. I'm working on that now. Good to have words to google with =)

Sure Spyware is the best antivirus software for detecting viruses,
i also have installed this anti virus in my system.

what you can get for free is AVG antivirus and zone alarm firewall. Those will do for a regular home user pc. Just make sure to download the free version from their sites. They also don't slow your system down too much.

I'm doing AVG right now but I have to pay in 30 days?

no, then you downloaded the wrong thing and you'll have to start over (deinstall what you have)

AVG Free:
http://download.cnet.com/AVG-Anti-Virus-Free-Edition-2012/3000-2239_4-10320142.html?part=dl-avg_free_us&subj=dl&tag=button

Zone Alarm: (on the top left where it says download)
http://www.zonealarm.com/security/en-us/trialpay-za-signup.htm

They obviously make you want to buy the product but they have perfectly free versions out there that run without time trial, just with less options.

If those links don't work for you, be sure to google for AVG+free and zone alarm+free

yw. Been using both for the last 5+ years and they rarely give me grief. You obviously have to enable-click network access for your programs the first time they start but they don't give you annoying popups and stuff ever after. All updates in the background and you'll hardly notice it's even there.
