If so then you are probably experiencing a flatline.

http://yourbrainonporn.com/i-quit-porn-but-my-potency-and-libido-are-decreasing-help

After reading this, I think you are right !!
In earlier times my libido always increased even after the first day.
But this time ( I don't know why) my libido went to zero even after one day! And now it's the 5th day and it's not getting better at all.
(Ok, I had only once a ED but it was because of a very bad day so it was really just for a one day and the next day I was fortunately gone.)

And I also have a hypothesis and please be aware of this: It's not to long ago, that I have developed a fetish. So, I thought okay there are also other people having the same one, so I didn't worry. BUT : When I tried not to masturbate for about 1-3 days the thoughts on this fetish were nearly gone ! So only the 'normal' things were sexually attracting me. After these short phases of abstinence , that means after I finished them by masturbating, my sexual thoughts were then more related to this fetish again.

As I said before, this time I have nearly no sexual thoughts. The only reason I would finish this abstinence would be because of my fear that die ED is not normal or won't get better. On this link, it says that it last up to 6 weeks ( and even longer). And the recovery needs longer if I'm trying to have sexual thoughts etc.
If anyone has any questions I will definitely answer them.

The No-More-Porn Thread - TheAnimal - 01-23-2012 07:52 PM

I forgot something for my abstinance- data :
Today, its the 5th day and I :
- don't watch any porn
- don't ejaculate
- masturbate a bit , but try to do it as less as possible ( when I masturbate I'm just using my mind)
- Yes there are is a lack of sexual attraction with girls. This situation is not new , but in this intense it is extremely surprising me !!
In earlier times I need just 1-2 days to get in a state , in which girls are much hotter.
And I needed about 4-6 days to see almost any girl as hot. But this time nothing helps^^
If I forgot sth. or you want to ask, just do it !

PS: the scary thing is , that I didn't have any idea that I'm suffering that hard from this. If I hadn't tried that last week, who knows when I would have been aware of this !?

Hey Animal

I can definetly understand your fear around that specific number, yeah 6 weeks that's long :o. I also used to feel like that when I saw that number. All I could think about was "is this really worth it?". But to be honest I actually think it is, at least for me.

When I consumed porn I had hardly any morning wood, my balls grew tiny, my dick grew tiny, my voice wasn't as strong, I had apathy towards women and I had A LOT of sexual anxiety. Girls would make eye contact with me, but I would just pretend that it didn't happen.

So what are some of the positives that I have experienced so far: the last two weeks I had morning wood every morning, my balls are big again, my dick is normal again, my voice has become very deep and powerfull (you can tell when women turn around to look at who's talking). Frankly I'm not even sure that I'm halfway there.

You said you had ED once? Now it could be because you were just nervous, but if I were you, I wouldn't shy away from reading up on this issue.

Some suggestions:
- rebooting accounts: When I read these, it was as if I was reading about myself on a computer screen. Definetly visit that link, at the end you'll find a pdf with stories from other guys.

http://yourbrainonporn.com/what-benefits-do-people-see-as-they-reboot

- http://www.reuniting.com: this is the daughter site of "yourbrainonporn". Here you can post your story and maybe other people will be able to relate to you. It's definetly beneficial to share your stories with other guys.

- check out my first post in this thread Tongue. I think that this will awnser a lot of your questions.

Good luck!

Thank you crazyhorse.
I can tell you after you said "my voice became very deep and powerful" my motivation immediately grew. Because THIS is exactly what I hated most. I mean I tried to do breathing exercises and tried to increase confidence in order to develop a powerful voice. I had a few successes and thought if i keep on it the effects will also occur in the long run. These effects you are describing seem to prepare you to be a powerful and attractive man =)

I'm really enjoying the idea that this porn-problem could solve my voice-problem. So you said - after 2 weeks (!!!) - your voice become very deep and powerful? I am believing you but didn't had the idea that this improves that fast!! Thank you! This is really a great motivation!

Well it's different for everyone off course, but yeah I definetly noticed differences in my voice. A lot of other men have reported the same actually.

Just remember that "rebooting isn't linear", meaning you can feel great the next day and feel like total shit the other day.

rebooting= the proces where your dopamine sensitivty adjusts to normal stimilu. Porn has numbed this, due to its overstimulating effect.

definetly check out reuniting.com if you want to hear more about this.

Can I ask how often you guys watched porn and jacked off to it?

SeXyBaCk Wrote:Can I ask how often you guys watched porn and jacked off to it?

I guess when I felt like it. IIRC it ranged between 3-4 times a week to less than once a month.

SeXyBaCk Wrote:Can I ask how often you guys watched porn and jacked off to it?

Funny question Big Grin.

now don't tell me that I didn't warn you Wink

I think I could have between 10-15 porn induced orgasms a week. This also included when I watched porn for long periods of time, sessions of one hour or so.

I told you Tongue

The No-More-Porn Thread - luda - 01-24-2012 05:13 PM

Well after 16 days I cracked. That was like 3 days ago. It was after I had a cook out with some of my friends and these random girls were there. I definitely noticed that I had become more confident in holding eye contact with women. I caught quite a few checking me out on a lot of occasions. So bad news is I gave in to masturbating to porn but the good news is I'm lasting longer periods without porn. So this next attempt should be a successful one Smile

Hey guys,
I am in Day 29 of this and it is a bit scary that my libido is nearly completely gone. The first week I was horny as hell and really had to constrain myself to not masturbate but now it is actually frightening. I have no libido! I read that this is normal and may take 2-8 weeks. Has anyone gotten over this and recovered from his ED? How long did it take?

do you mean day 29 of no PMO? When you drop porn, it's very normal to experience a drop in libidio. See the flatline metnioned in one of my post and in the links in one of my first posts at this forum.

It definetly goes away, For me I'm noticing that it's going away f.e. morning wood is returning, girls are starting to become more attractive again. If you want to speed this up, you can also cut out the masturbation for a while. That really helps.

The No-More-Porn Thread - TheAnimal - 01-24-2012 10:43 PM

@ Crazyhorse Question to your vid: It says "porn is no playboy" . So, watching and dreaming of normal girls in magazines or real life is okay?
If yes, is masturbation a requirement for rebooting or just a recommendation?

If it interests you : My withdrawal symptomps are: Most of time fatigue, can't sleep, low / no libido , no morning wood( but I had them almost never since Porn-addiction), and others are not sure.

The No-More-Porn Thread - freiheitlich - 01-25-2012 09:12 AM

Iam now 1 month without porn and masturbation. I do not understand what is so diffulicult to accomplish it. Be real Alpha, set a goal and put all energy to archive it.

Hey Animal

Your situation looks a lot like mine. I also started this reboot with frequent masturbation and I also had a lot of the symtomps that you described (can't sleep, low libido, no morning wood).

What you will notice when you drop both porn and masturbation, is it will definetly speed up the process. The reason being is that masturbation is also a form of sexual arousal, and it can slow down your process. Meaning that it will take longer for your brain to return to its normal dopamine sensitivity. After most people have rebooted, they return to a normal masturbation schedule. That is off course after a significant reboot time. But there are many ways to skim this cat off course, for me the bar is now set at 21 days. My next goal would be to go without it for a month.

Some of the benefits of rebooting are that you will have morning wood again, normal women will be far more attractive again etc. I havereally noticed this last one very strongly in the last few days.

see this link:

http://yourbrainonporn.com/how-do-i-know-when-im-back-to-normal

When I said that playboy isn't really comparable to porn, I was referring to the ammount of novelty that one can experience through internet porn or through a playboy magazine. In just one hour of watching porn, I can easily see a whole lot more "novelty" then i can with a playboy magazine that is being published monthly? or every two weeks?. haha

If I were you, I would sign up at the reuniting forum (http://www.reuniting.info/node?page=4). Tell them your story and they will be able to help you very much. I blog there under the nickname "High_Achiever", so you can check out my blog posts as well.

one final word, the best way to beat this is "replacement activities". This means socializing, excercising, just be outside a lot and you'll do fine. But if there is one HUGE TIP that I can give, it's probably to start meditating. This one helped me a lot. I went from only being able to sustain of masturbation for 4 days to letting it go for 21 days. This was huge for me! I could really tell the positive benefits that it gave me.

freiheitlich Wrote:Iam now 1 month without porn and masturbation. I do not understand what is so diffulicult to accomplish it. Be real Alpha, set a goal and put all energy to archive it.

Well if one smokes 3 packs of sigarettes a day and the other one only smokes one package, don't you think it's going to be easier to stop smoking for the latter?

For me it doesn't really matter that much where people start, as long as they keep improving and moving forward.

one last thing Matt II. I know from personal experience that this "flatline" phase can be a psychological disaster. I remember when a girl started flirting with me and I couldn't get hard. That SUCKED! Especially if your friends are pushing you along the way off "dude she's flirting with you, go make out with her", lol.

I just wanted to let you know, that change is usually around the corner. I just read a post from someone who said he had no libido for three weeks and he reported having his libido back around day 35. Just don't test it with porn, that's the real danger you should be aware off.

And for the rest meditation and patience Smile.

Just know that this is very normal and that a reboot experience isn't linear.

The No-More-Porn Thread - SeXyBaCk - 01-25-2012 02:02 PM

Are you taking into account the natural decline of libido men experience as they grow older? I won't expect my libido to be the same when im 38 as it is now.

SeXyBaCk Wrote:Are you taking into account the natural decline of libido men experience as they grow older? I won't expect my libido to be the same when im 38 as it is now.

I've actually read some reboot accounts from older men (30-40 or up) who said their libido has increased a lot due to this reboot. Anyway...

I don't really think Matt T is that old? Since he's also stopping from porn, I think he's going through a flatline.

The No-More-Porn Thread - Mark - 01-25-2012 05:20 PM

Another interesting observation. I feel like I've already gone through the reboot, as my sex life has felt pretty normal the past few weeks. But one thing I noticed is that back when I watched porn, masturbation was a daily occurrence. Now I'll go 4-5 days naturally without doing it. And then do it like 3 times in one day sometimes. It's an interesting change.

But overall, I'm happy with the permanent effects, and don't miss porn at all anymore. I'm all around hornier and find more types of girls sexy. And in bed, I'm performing a lot better.

Great results!

I'm noticing very positive benefits as well. I notice that I'm getting turned on again by real life women. Frankly these women have always been georgous, but now I just notice it a lot more. It also has a stronger affect on me. Meaning that I enjoy the interaction a whole lot more and that I'm far more funny and engaging with them. I'm actually really starting to LOVE women. haha

Mark could you expand on why you perform better in bed now? Is it because you are more attuned to her feelings? Cause I notice this myself as well, it seems like I'm having far more empathy when I'm interacting with women and I feel so much at ease. It's mindblowing if I think about it actually.

The No-More-Porn Thread - Mark - 01-25-2012 05:50 PM

That's part of it. I feel more present. But I think mostly it's just that real life women, with all of their minor flaws and idiosyncrasies, turn me on a lot more now. In the past, I'd look down at a girl while I banged her and think, "Oh, her tits are at a weird angle, and she has a little bit of tummy fat." Now I look down and just think they're sexy as all hell.

Okay, thats kind of funny because I already started meditating about 2 weeks before my PMO-trial. So how often do you meditate ? I'm meditating only 1 time per day, because I thought otherwise I couldn't stand the discipline.
Guys, is the night also the hardest for you? Because the last 2 days were REALLY hard for me, I couldn't resist to masturbate.
I also noticed , that I have no concentration at all and this really sucks ! I mean, you need your concentration to achieve other things in your everyday life...

The key to understanding this is your prefontal cortex, which is the are of your brain that is your responsible for willpower and long term goal setting.

When you are addicted to something, your prefontal cortex gets weaker. That explains why people have such a hard time quitting addictions. With meditation, you're training your prefontal cortex. Studies have shown that people who meditate have larger prefontal cortexes then people who don't.

I meditate 10 minutes everyday. Most of the time that's actually enough to enjoy the benefits of it. In the beginning I did it two times a day, 10 minutes each, so that may explain as to why I saw the benefits of it quickly. But you've already been meditating for two weeks, so normally you should see benefits soon.

Yeah I also had zero concentration in my first days, especially when I was horny as hell. Be prepared for a lot of these nasty side effects. Sometimes you'll have a super high libido, sometimes none at all. It's not always easy but the more you stick to it, the quicker you'll see the benefits.

Look up the link to withdrawal symptomps in one of my first posts to this thread.

But don't tell me I didn't warn you Wink

I also tried to meditate for at least 10 minutes. And now I want to increase it 2 times per day. You said sth. of super high libido, but I haven't had this since PMO, it's just this kind of desire to masturbate in your mind ,because it is sooooo unusual that you have zero libido.
In other words: The mind wants it ( but still not that much before my PMO-phase) and the genitals only barely react. I think since PMO ( 7days) I had no 100% erection only about 80%.

Thanks for the response! Yes I am a bit concerned since I don´t feel nothing. Like as if my sexuality doesn´t exist. Was a bit better today though, got a slight boner (maybe 70%er) just sitting around. Hope this channges fast since I had to turn down sex because I didn´t want to break the PMO streak. Talk about self-discipline!
Anyway when do I actually know I am back to normal?
