Roosh had an article some time ago, about how the entire world is hoping you'll fail. Granted, his goal seems to be to instill a sense of "Do it yourself, no-one else will." but it had a more negative feel to it. His article can be found here:

That article reveals so much about Roosh and the way he thinks... Imagine living in a reality where you think everyone is out to get you; where you believe women are looking for reasons to reject you, where you believe that secretly everyone is looking at how you act and hoping it will fail. Poor guy.
CHB2's point, and that article's, is that in reality nobody really cares about what you are doing and thinks constantly about it. In fact I'd say believing so is a form of narcissism; even if you're using it to say negative things to yourself about yourself, you're still obsessing over yourself and how others perceive you.
This quote was my favourite: "A lot of people agonize over every little thing they say and do as if every one in the room is constantly scrutinizing them, but in Tim's case, this couldn't be more accurate".
I'm going to keep that one as a reminder next time I start getting neurotic lol.
