A friend highly recommended that I read "The Way of the Superior Man".

He made it out to be full of profound insights and wisdom. He said it was his "Bible".

I've always been skeptical of D.D. and all his spiritual claims/ his business angle... although I know little about it.

I blew $14 on it on a whim and I'm regretting it now... is the book worth my time to read? I'm very cautious about reading any info in this field that's not science based anymore as a lot of it tends to be bullshit that can actually be detrimental. Plus Models really supplies all the information I need in this area anyways.

Thoughts on Deida?

I like and agree with his general principles... but yeah, he's a bit too woo-woo for me. Particularly in "Way of the Superior Man." In fact, that book and "Power of Now" I've always felt were waaaaaaay overrated.

He has another book called "Intimate Communion" about relationships which I preferred. It seemed a little more down to earth and based on reason.

He is a woo-woo, but I've read Way of the Superior Man and really liked some parts of it.

In one chapter he explains how you must, as a man, embrace your dark side/sexuality and express it with love. Really "ravage" "your woman", in a good way. If you don't accept and identify with and express your natural sexuality, and in stead let your sexual desires go "underground", they will be expressed without love, resulting in watching hard porn, rape fantasies, addictions. I felt that was very spot on for me.

Also, I've told girls about the idea that women are like the ocean - flowing, wild, unpredictable - while men can be like rocks in the ocean, and however the ocean moves and flows and beats against the rock, the rock won't move or budge and will be there, strong and secure. I can remember several women responding with amazement, first of all because they get the ocean metaphor and really like the understanding and acceptance of their experience (i.e. emotions can be all over the place to the point where they themselves are frustrated and annoyed with themselves), and secondly, because the idea that a man like that rock exists makes them very curious!
