backwards dating in UK?

I saw a video of Conan O'Brien interviewing Alice Eve whos very beautiful and she explains the difference between American & UK dating, check it out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0GgHhOqUrUw&feature=plcp

She says in the UK, women ask out men in general. However, in USA men ask out women in general. She says men in USA are confident while men in UK are shy in general.

The difference is interesting for a number of reasons. Sounds like it's much easier to be a man in the UK. Does anybody who has been to or lives in UK know if this is true? How is the dating life in UK, who chases whom? Is it common for women in the UK to approach, ask for a man's number, and ask him out on a date?

Although Alice says men are confident in USA, there is a discussion in this thread http://postmasculine.com/forum/Thread-Tr...travel+bum about how men rarely approach women in USA and Mark even calls approaching a novelty in USA.

Btw I understand that other countries/cultures are different and I've read Mark's article about how women chase men in Thailand. And this is my first post on this site, I had a couple of posts on the old site practicalpickup. Thanks for any help in advance!

I think that statement is rubbish. It is no easier here in the UK than in the US. I get more success approaching in the US but thats because of my accent, not because of the thinking of the women.

having lived extensively all over the UK and US i can say categorically this is bullshit. The UK and US have a very similar spectrum of women, there's not that much difference in the countries in general actually.
