I firmly believe that American Football is a metaphor for life.

So you are on defense. The offense has been wearing you down and they are on the one yard line, threatening to score a touchdown. This is a daunting situation.

The offense lines up and the center hikes the ball. The quarterback receives the snap and throws to a receiver that he thinks is open.

At that moment, the cornerback steps in front of the receiver and intercepts the ball. The cornerback sprints down the sideline and scores a touchdown.

Suddenly, everything has shifted 180 degrees. A once hopeless situation has become filled with hope. Even when things are at their worst, there can always be an opportunity for things to get better if you seize that opportunity. And what happens may just surprise you.
