The No-More-Porn Thread
Seen a girl a couple times this week and slept with her. Interestingly, last week I was insanely horny. But since I had sex, my sex drive has actually calmed down. I do notice that I still get turned on by her more easily than is typical for me. But that overwhelming hunger for sex that I had for a few days last week has passed. I just feel calmer and in more control.

Day 12, I think...

@Guyintheback and TheBoss: Yeah, I had that effect, too. But it wasn't constant. On some days I was incredible productive, more than average, but on some other days I procrastinated more than usual. So the side-effect of more focus is quite shaky...But i am still confused about the restrictions...For example I don't know if "No Porn" includes a picture-restriction or not. Or is this up to me?

For me no porn means: No erotic/sexual pictures or videos with the obvious intent of only creation arousal.

I think jacking off to ANY images — whether blatant hardcore sex or goat genitalia — defeats the purpose.

Part of this challenge is that you're even not supposed to fantasize about porn or images either.

I haven't been good about keeping track of the days as you guys, but since seeing this thread, it's been like a week since I've watched porn and a bit less than that for jerking off... combined with unseasonably cold weather for Los Angeles (it's been in the 30s at night here! Don't laugh, my house doesn't even have central heating) that's kept me in more than usual, and I'm ready to hit on about anything that moves. Also felt a bit more productivity with my music, though that's been canceled out at times by my fingers being too cold to play.

For me it's now day 30. My worst withdrawal symptoms are: insomnia. So f.e. I might have slept 3 hours a night because I wanted to finish an assignment badly. The next day I decide to go to bed early (let's say 9 p.m) and I wake up at 00, 01 a.m. Only to stay awake until 7 a.m. and to get sleepy again. Really weird, I once slept from 7 a.m. till 2 p.m. that way. Although today was already an improvement. Went to bed at 8 p.m. and I woke up at 3 a.m. Mentally it's more difficult actually, you have this barrier where you are thinking "normally I would be sleeping, but maybe I should get some work done".

The flatliness is still annoying. For those who are uninitiated it's called having no libido haha. Really weird, but i've heard from a lot of people that it's just a fase that you go through.

so 30 days without porn and this week I want to go an entire week without masturbation. They say that if you want to reboot your brain completely, it works a whole lot better if you don't masturbate.

I failed with the no-masturbation rule again the day before yesterday. Probably because I am so stressed out about the exams I had to write yesterday and will have to write next Saturday.

So back to day one again.

Failed yesterday. I was having crazy cigarette cravings (a month without smoking now) and was horny. Had to choose one, I was going insane, so I fapped. Don't really regret it though. lol

Haven't noticed any other withdrawal symptoms or changes. Although I've been having sex this week. And the sex has been pretty good. Part of that may be the lack of porn, and part of that may just be the girl. This is usually how far I get on my masturbation diet, about two weeks, then I start getting laid, then I start masturbating to porn again. Going to keep going this time though and see what happens.

Absolutely! My deep voice has returned and it's far more deeper then ever, it's really funny to see how women respond to you differently. This porn thing really had his grip on me. My balls are also becoming bigger again. Although I'm verry positive that this will bring me far more positives in the future, it also left me feeling a bit depressed knowing that I've" wasted so much opportunities with women due to this....

I'm going to ban porn completely out of my life. Oh and K9 is a free porn blocker, just give you're password and email to someone else in case you might be tempted to click on the "forgot password" button. This week I'm gonna go a week without masturbation, I'm really curious to see what will happen.

Really weird that you arn't having any withdrawal symptoms. Although on the forums I've read that it takes approximately 60 days for you're brain to reboot completely. The choice is yours off course.

lol. It's for reasons like this that I always try to do one thing at a time. It's really funny to see how quickly your levels of willpower can be depleted.

Really all I've noticed is that I get hornier faster when there's a girl in front of me, which is really nice, but that's about it. Then again, like I said, I've cut down on porn quite a bit in the past couple years. Whereas years ago I used to watch it every day (sometimes twice a day), since last year I've maybe watched it 2-3 times a week. So quitting probably isn't as big of a shock to my system as it is to some.

I plan on going the entire 60 days. I may even do the last 30 with no masturbation or orgasms and see what happens. At the end of 60 days, I'll evaluate the experience and see if I want to make the changes permanent. I really missed porn the first week, but I haven't really missed it recently. Then again, I've been getting laid.

My libido is higher when I don't masturbate. As far as productivity goes, I'm more productive when I don't masturbate, but sometimes the drive is so high that it's distracting me and making me less productive. Oh and, I didn't fap to porn.

The funny thing is, I didn't start watching porn and masturbating till I was 18. Then once I started, I was hooked on it.

lol 2-3 times a week that's nothing Tongue. I thaught about this last night. I remember when I was 10 or 12 years old, I was jacking off to a britney spears photograph and she was just wearing a short skirt. LOL, to me that was pornography. It even was a picture that I ripped out of a newspaper, so it couldn't be that erotic! Then later on I got insanely horny from watching bikini girls and then I moved to other stuff. I remember losing my erection sometimes when I was switching porn movies. Sometimes I could do that up to five times a day, especially if I found it hard to fall asleep.

But I knew something was wrong when my sexual anxiety started to increase. I remember girls grinding their asses on to me, and I didn't feel horny or the time in tenerife when a girl just grabbed my hand and placed it on her vagina when we were dancing. Damm it I could only get hard when they were naked and I was to insensitive to enjoy oral sex. SUCKS...

see somewhere there is a guy who's in the exact same situation as I was, but he's just clueless about it.

I'm still in the no-libido fase. I remember a girl just throwing herself at me and I didn't feel anything. LOL, after that I didn't went out for a week haha, cause I was so emberassed by it. But I've noticed that being around "real women" is so crucial for this reboot. Actually I'm really happy with how my perception is subtly changing. I love women more and I love the interaction a whole lot more.

good job! The reason why a lot of men experience "no libido" after not watching porn, is because porn makes you're dopamine receptors far less sensitive to "real life stiumation" such as an interaction with a cute girl, a date with a girl etc... I mean porn is designed to do that.

it also got me thinking how in the seventies porn was a pin-up picture of a girl, now porn is something totally different. A lot of men who are heavily hooked on porn even go as far as watching gay porn or extreme fetish porn.

I taugth Brian was also going to joing us, so far he's lurking from the dark LOL

The No-More-Porn Thread
I was pretty degenerate about porn for a long time. I can relate to your Britney Spears pics. I used to download pics from playboy.com when I was 12-13 and print them out secretly while my parents weren't home. Then I'd hide them in my room and jerk off to them at night. I had a whole stash. Later when I got my own computer, jerking off to porn became a daily habit, sometimes 2-3 times a day, and continued until I was in my early 20's. Even with my last girlfriend, who I was having sex with almost every day, I would get excited to jerk off to porn a couple times a week.

I noticed the deleterious effects when I became single again in 2009. I was depressed and jerking off to porn A LOT. And sure enough, when I went home with a lot of girls I couldn't get it up or keep it up. It was a problem I had when I suffered from a ton of sexual anxiety when I first got into PUA as well. Eventually I stumbled upon some articles and studies last summer. And I cut back. Sex life improved. Then I found that brainonporn.com site earlier this year and it really convinced me to stop. Although I never completely stopped. Like I said, I'd stop for a couple weeks at a time at most. But would eventually go back to it. Now that I think of it, I was using porn a lot for a few weeks earlier this year, and I had penis problems with a hot Swedish girl I brought home then too... so yeah, looking back, it seems like I was the pack-a-day smoker who cut back to five-cigarettes-a-day and convinced himself he had quit. Sure, it wasn't as bad, but I was still hooked.

Will be interesting to see what the long-term effects are. I've been watching porn for as long as I can remember. I discovered masturbating by watching Real Sex on HBO when I was 10. I've never NOT had porn to masturbate to, now that I think about it. The first week or so had some noticeable effects, but now they seem to be pretty minor. I would love it if I experienced some long-term positive changes from this.

Yep this is all very recognizable. Sometimes I'm starting to think whether our society isn't too sexual. I mean in the seventies at least they had sex with each other, and pin-up girls were porn back then. These days with all that porn, big dildo's, toys.... I don't mean to sound like a prude, but I don't know whether it's the healthiest thing. Especially for people who are inexperienced (both men and women). Although it's mostly men who get hooked on this.

haha I laughed out when you were telling you were downloading pictures from playboy.com. I remember my dad asking "where did ths newspaper page go", lol it was the one with britney spears on it. I really taught I was a badass Smile

Anyway this week no masturbation, we'll see how that goes.

So in the long time you get your libido back and it will be easier to be stimulated? I hope so Smile And Guys it is really good to know that we do this together. Otherwise it would be really hard not to quit. I guess its time to check these websites you talked about.

Yes there are a lot of men on the reuniting forum who are amazed by their libido's. This is mostly due to the fact that they are becoming sensitive to normal stimuli again f.e. a cute girl in a dress. They also report far greater confidence and noticing it a lot more when women are checking them out.

In what fase are you now?

I hope this insomnia will soon be over, cause it's very difficult to be productive during the day when you lack a huge ammount of sleep. In the beginning it's doable, but after a while you just go nuts. It's now 1:30 a.m. and I have a lot of schoolwork to do, due to the fact that I've procrastinated on this. Not very plessant.....

whathever back to work Smile

I am personally not noticing as big of a difference as everyone else is. I think it has been about 2 weeks or so for me and beyond being more easily aroused by girls while dancing and whatnot its not as big of a difference as I had imagined it would be. Maybe it is because I am not cutting out masturbation as well?

All that said I don't plan on going back to it, because I can finally get off pretty easily without visual stimulus or thinking about porn scenarios. We'll see, I could always fall back into it, but for now I feel pretty secure in not looking at porn.

I can only speak for myself when I say that the effect of not masturbation is about 90%, the effect of not watching porn 10% of the overall effect I'm feeling.
I never watched that much porn to begin with, though. Maybe once a week for the last couple of months.

For me, not masturbating has a big effect too. Possibly bigger than no porn, but I can't be sure about that (I usually do both at the same time or none).

I'm really going crazy. My love for women is getting stronger and stronger. Sex doesn't fix it. Tongue Sex reduces my sex drive for like a day, but then it shoots back up. I don't feel a need to watch hard porn, but those websites with beautiful hot (almost) naked women (you see links to pics like that under Rob Judge's articles sometimes) make my insides do summersaults. I have for the most part managed to ignore or avoid those pictures though. Women in real life also have a very strong effect on me.. And I think my behavior is changing a bit. I just naturally hold eye contact. Even held eye contact and smiled at a girl, which would normally require a lot of courage for me..

Day 16 Not Masturbating or (intentionally) looking at Porn -- other than a few encounters to be expected when browsing the net, as in a topless occupy wall-street protest I got linked at the end of a video MARK posted (damn you). Actual tatas on youtube! I watched that video for informational purposes only of course...

Feeling great; accomplishing a lot.

I've also experienced a consistent general sense of contentment. I assume that's due to hormones reaching a steady equilibrium.

Also noticed a substantial boost in willpower.

Stay solid comrades.
