RE: Starting Strength Training
Dead right mate I have been hitting the gym 4 times a week for a good few months and now its an ingrained habit Smile

If you do something regularly, it becomes a habit and happens automatically (see The Power of Habit). I think there is a saying about mastering the rules first before breaking them so I will stick with the program.

Next question. What is a good starting weight for each exercise? I'm a big guy, strong and fat. I think starting out with an empty barbell as I've seen many people recommend over the years is for skinny dudes who don't really have a lot of strength in them.

Would 10kg be a good starting weight for squats? I haven't tested my limits so maybe halving my 5-rep max weight is a good place to start?

Thanks for all the advice so far.

Now for some inspiration heres Stallone in his mid 60s still working out
