Rebel Without a Cause
Just watched this. I felt like it did a really good job with the themes of masculinity, especially how relationships with parents factor in to your emotional health. Just kind of reminded me of the kind of stuff Mark writes about. Anybody else seen it? What do you think?

RE: Rebel Without a Cause
One of my favorites. I really identified with the father/son aspect, as I grew up watching my own father get treated like a doormat by my mother. One of the most powerful scenes was when Jim asks his Dad what a man would do, and his Dad can't give him a straight answer. His father is so well meaning, but when it comes to helping his son confront his masculinity, he's utterly hopeless. I think it goes to show that we've been dealing with these father issues for a long time now in society.
