Putting too much investment in what others perceive of you
I have been doing this all my life. I know it's human nature and everything and to some degree i have gotten better over the past couple of years but I still struggle with it. I've learned from a self help coach (Matthew hussey) that this feeling doesn't really completely go away. That you can only make it manageable to a certain extent. I know the antidote for this is to focus on yourself and invest in yourself and mark talks a lot about that in the book. But how? How does one invest in oneself and what does it mean really mean?

I feel like this is truly what's holding me back. This mentality. I have gotten a lot better but I really want to remove it completely. Anyone out there going through the same thing?

"If you believe that you have no control over your feeling and reactions, Dyer reveals how much you can take charge of yourself and manage how much you let difficult situations affect you. If you spend more time worrying what others think than working on what you want and need, Dyer points the way to true self-reliance. From self-image problems to over-dependence upon others, Dyer gives you the tools you need to enjoy life to the fullest."
