Seriously, six months in a place like Medellin might permanently ruin women for you back home. It kind of has for me, haha...

The last sentence sounds a little sad! Undecided

But if you want you can just make Medellin/South America your "home", which is exactly what you're doing now, it seems like. Smile

I was thinking about that position of marketing/analytics. Does that entail things like doing tests where you write two (or four or more...) different emails to pitch a new product, randomly send one email to one half of your email subscribers and the other mail to the other half, where the emails link to different addresses (but with identical content), so you can monitor the percentage of people who click the link in each different email and monitor their behavior on the page, put all the variables into an excel (or SPSS!) and analyze further, then figure out what made the difference and further refine the texts and do more tests?

Stuff like that makes me jizz my pants. Whenever a teacher provided a list of all the grades for the whole class in the past, I would import the list into SPSS and calculate mean, median, standard deviations, and if possible (if the information was available) I would compare men to women, compare different ages and different classes with each other, and see if they differed significantly. For fun. Smile To the horror of my class mates, lol.

I guess the conclusion is that I really want this internship!

3 hours until deadline. Lots of last-minute applications coming in.

I've started reading through them and taking notes.

So, now we've reached the deadline can you give us an approximate number of how many applied?

I want to put a ballpark figure of 40 out there.

RE: Postmasculine Job Thread
Seven came in in the last five minutes.

64 applications in total. And I imagine I'll get a handful coming in late over the next hour. I'm going to excuse foreign applications for being up to an hour late because the US just had daylight savings time a couple days ago (which even I forgot about). US applications are now closed though.

I originally anticipated/hoped for 30ish. Over 20 came in today alone.

You must be giddy to have twice as many applications as you anticipated. Hopefully people were nice enough to separate thoughts into paragraphs as opposed to walls of texts.

67 applications. Submissions are officially closed.

Yes, it is very exciting to see so much enthusiasm. It's also going to be a long 48 hours as I comb through all of these. It will be a difficult decision. So exciting, but stressful.

Of course not. That would violate the privacy on every work application I know.

There's a post going up today about it.

And no, you cannot see other people's applications. Although I'll say some of the most impressive applications didn't get hired. Hiring was based on the interviews.

Yeah, interviews are the only thing that matters for hiring. An application can take you out but should never be enough to get you in.

What I like most is that they're forum members. I mean most guys, who are regularly posting here, really identify with the mission/vision, so I'm sure we'll like them and that the site will go in the right direction.
