New Forum Design: Bugs and Comments
First of all, I like the new forum design and the floating bar is pretty cool.

However it feels a bit "thick" to me? Maybe its just because I'm on a relatively small screen, but having two lines:

Postmasculine
Start here Guides Etc.

Makes it pretty chunky, could it all fit on one line? Just my two cents, other than that I really like it.

Cheers!

RE: The Floating Bar
I agree that having all the Start Here! stuff lying to the right of POSTMASCULINE would be ideal, if possible.

Also not a fan of the white background on the banner behind the words with the red background on either edge.

RE: The Floating Bar
Strange. At my computer the "start here!" stuff is to the right of POSTMASCULINE (so I have only one line)

Ah. But if I make the window smaller, it moves below POSTMASCULINE. So if you guys make your window bigger it should be fine.

RE: The Floating Bar
That's weird.

Ah yeah it works on my big screen, but there is still plenty of room for it to be on the same line on the smaller screen. Odd.

Max size on my 16" laptop screen isn't enough for it.

RE: The Floating Bar
Hey guys,

We're working on slowly converting the forum over to look just like the site. This is obviously a work in progress, so please keep reporting bugs and oddities here as we work out the kinks. Thanks.

RE: New Forum Design: Bugs and Comments
Hey Steve,

If you delete your cache and then refresh the forum, the red background should be gone. Try CTRL + SHIFT + DELETE and then choose to delete your cache.

The navigation bar is "responsive", which means that it makes itself "thick" when your resolution is small. Because God knows why this navigation bar responds a little bit differently than the one on the main site, so it goes "thick" at a higher resolution. I copied the code of the navigation bar over from the main site, so it's some trial and error to get it to work here.
After checking some more, the navigation bar doesn't behave the way it should on lower resolutions.

I'll see what I can do. In the meantime, just up your resolution to 1920 x 1080 and you'll be fine. Blush

Edit: Do a reload with CTRL + SHIFT + R or just delete your cache and reload and let me know if it works better! I did something to the navigation bar.

Heya,

Didn't end up having to do anything but refresh the page just now. Looks great. I'm on 1366 x 768 resolution. Here's what I'm seeing for both the forum and the site just to make sure it aligns with what you guys are expecting. One thing I notice: the background light gray behind "Welcome back, Steve" is slightly distracting as it contrasts a lot with the tones of the dark gray and blood red elsewhere.

That's funny, for me it is now also different, but the other way around. I now have two lines: one with "POSTMASCULINE" and one with "start here! etc"

Me too. And I have a 23" monitor. Couldn't we just do without while logged on into the forum? Or at least having it fixed at the top, for the registered users.
When I click to the first new message on a given topic the bar is covering the poster's username.
I refreshed and it's only a single line; go figure.
