My introduction, and a question: Wing locator?
Hi everyone. I only found postmasculine last week and it's clear that Mark writes some fascinating stuff regarding human interaction. It wasn't until going through the archives until I realized it is (was?) a men's dating advice site!

Anyway, I find Mark's attitudes towards women -- and people in general -- refreshing compared to PUA sites out there, particularly my local forums. Which brings me to my question. Has there been a wing locator thread on this forum? (Or is that taboo and I'm being a noob?) I think it would be extremely helpful to make friends to wing with and put the advice in Models into motion.

Regarding the local forums I've lurked on, I see too much of the standard, empty, plastic PUA strategies talked about and it makes me not want to meet these guys, even if they do want you to be one of the bros when doing cold approaches. And I can't be the only one wondering if there's someone on this forum in my city to talk shop and wing with.

If there hasn't been a locator thread here, I suggest we begin one with a similar structure to this:

  1. North America
  • California
    [**]San Francisco
    [***]Mission District

(I know my formatting sucks; click the link for a better example.)

As fantastic as the advice around here is, theory does us no good without practice. I don't know about y'all, but I'm going to find it easier conquer approach anxiety with a fun dude who wants to implement similar material and laugh with me at my mistakes.

Would anyone else want something like this?

My name is Mike, by the way. I'll be sticking around for a while.

RE: My introduction, and a question: Wing locator?
I think it's a great idea for readers of Postmasculine to come together in real life and discuss and apply the advice in Models and Postmasculine in general!

Our goals and actions just get more force behind them when we share them with others - especially if those others join us in achieving the goals and taking action.

I live in Amsterdam, but I'll be in Colombia soon.

Edit: Maybe we can call it something other than "Wing locator". Postmasculine disassociates itself from PUA and focuses on a broader (and IMO, more healthy) form of self-improvement. Wing locator just makes me think of getting together to do state pumping and Mystery Method and such.

Oh and welcome to the forums!

Wow, thanks for the quick reply and encouragement. I'm totally down with further disassociating with PUA societies. Mystery Method and its ilk is exactly what I'm trying to avoid.

I've been wanting to meet up with guys to talk about this stuff with for a while, but on local forums I often find comments I find abrasive that others in the community deems acceptable. There's an undercurrent in the language of these groups that I can't help but feel uncomfortable with, and it's clearly rooted in PUA literature. The biggest local group I found was on meetup.com and was founded by DJ Fuji, and it appears others in the group really like his stuff. I don't.

I'm in Seattle, by the way. Hopefully others in Seattle run into this thread, but I think it would be cool to have a thread dedicated to group meetings if there's enough readership in this forum to make it possible. My post is spaghetti thrown against the wall.

What do you think we should call it? What are your ideas?

I'm sure in time the forum will find the most effective methods of facilitating things like helping guys meet up to go out or do anything really. The culture around here is pretty awesome and if you look at the readership demographics from the website http://postmasculine.com/survey-results it only seems natural that some of these guys would be interested in networking with each other for various reasons.

My two good friends just organized the biggest group at a very famous music festival by inviting people from Reddit. They have like 100+ members and they are all just meeting for the first time basically at the festival. Crazy stuff. Not quite a "wing" story but still pretty awesome.
