Marks article on the 3 faces

Mark wrote an interesting article on the 3 faces..

But the basic concept is, there are three “faces:”

1.The face of the person you see when you see yourself.
2.The face of the person you try to present to others
3.The face of the person that other people actually perceive when they see you

Still alittle confused on how to merge them. If we look at 3 everyone at work sees me as confident, charismatic, charming and a bit of a ladies man because I am always playful with female colleagues. I am confident in meetings and am not afraid of expressing my opinions and moving projects foreward. They consider me a very social guy who gets along with everyone in the department. When I was living in foreign countries I always managed to make friends and they considered me cool.

My closest friend who knows me really well thinks I am a very good listener compared to his other friends. He sees me as a lone wolf who enjoys doing my own thing but shys away from the party scene. Travelling is one example I love travelling by myself. He also commented that sometimes I have alot of aggression and pain in my eyes. There are times when he sees me as emotional he actually said that he likes that part of me because its authentic.

Now when I look at 2 I try to present myself as confident, assertive at times cocky, someone who is always in a good mood especially at work. When I approach women I approach with alot of confidence and they are impressed when I do that.

For 1 deep down I do feel afraid of being myself afraid of asserting myself. I sometimes feel that if I go out and meet people or attend social events people will not appreciate me for who I am. This is one of the reasons I never go to these events. Ninety percent of the people out there just dont know the real me. This has been my biggest failure with women I guess.

My question is how do I go about merging these 3 faces ?
