How to find a therapist?

So I am looking on the Psychology Today page for a therapist.

I figure that my main issues are that I have some kind of anxiety disorder and that I am pretty sure that I am an anxious/preoccupied type when it comes to relationships of all types. I also sometimes suffer from depression.

I will be in another state for about two months but I still want to get started ASAP.

I am assuming Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is probably the best choice for me due to my time constraints.

Should I try and find someone who specializes in "men's issues" or sex therapy or should I just go for a good old fashioned CBT therapist?

Unless you are really in a bad place and need help ASAP, I suggest you don't go to a therapist until you are ready to commit to one. It can be difficult to find one that fits with you, and it's best to be able to stay for as long as you need for it to get you where you want to go.

As for the rest of your questions; I'm not sure as I've never seen a sex therapist, so I don't know how much they differ from a normal one. Having said that, I think the best thing is to put finding one who is a good fit for you as your highest priority, and then working from there. I think only people with issues that are exclusively sexual would only benefit from a sex therapist.
