How can I stop missed opportunities in academics from getting me down occasionally?

The Misc is not a place for intellects, that's for sure. They can be pretty juvenile. It's full of trolls and ignorant people. Don't take what they say seriously. Some of them can be pretty nice and intelligent, but the atmosphere of the place is not an encouraging one. You're more likely to get teared down than anything else. The depth of the forum is not very profound.
