Has anyone else really benefited from positive affirmations?
I've found they've really altered my mindset in a good way. For the past month or so, I've finally been able to express myself honestly. For example, after forcing myself to think "I am attractive to girls" I've noticed far more have been checking me out, and it makes talking/escalating with them so much easier. This mindset just comes naturally to me now.

I didn't see too much about affirmations in Models, so I'm curious if anyone else has had success with them.

I think people benefit more from being mindful of negative thoughts and interpretations and stopping them as they arise.

Yes. Daily, written affirmations really stepped my game up, and helped me stay focused on my goals.

Curious to hear Mark's opinion on this. Lately I've been trying to think less, especially about pick up material, instead focusing solely on confidently expressing myself. I'm wondering if affirmations can help boost confidence until permanent reference experiences are made.

Affirmations never caught on for me for some reason, so I've never done them much. I've also read that psychological studies involving affirmations showed no benefit. It could be a placebo.

But as with anything, if it works for you, do it.

I was going to type almost the exact same thing as Matt did above. I don't see any harm with positive ones (have never really done them so it would be unfair of me to bash), but here is one pitfall I think they have. If you always tell yourself "all women find me attractive" or something of the like you are lying to your subconcious mind and it knows it. Why? Becacaus when you get blown out or rejected (which will happen as we all know) it can wreek more havoc on your confidence. However, if your affirmations are all about YOU and do not have as much to do with external validation or acceptance, you will do much better with them. For example "I have many attractive qualities" or "I am an emotionally powerful person" ,etc. you will not be so influenced by external things (good or bad). Granted, being "attractive" does have to do with how we THINK others perceive us, but I guess what I mentioned is a more indirect way of re-programming your subconcious.

Again, I have not done much with them but those I know that claim they have helped them use them in a manner like I mentioned.

One of the best things I ever did was becoming mindful of negative thoughts, all while not judging myself for having them. Read 'the Untethered Soul' my Michael Singer if you get a chance. It goes into great detail on how we perceive ourselves and our "inner voice".

Well, that's just what my old therapist used to tell me. The problem with too many negative thoughts is that they create negative interpretations and explanations of events, which only furthers the vicious cycle.

Do you happen to know if there's an e-book? I've only read the first chapter as a sample, and was very intrigued. Worse case scenario I just buy it off Amazon, although I would prefer the e-book if there is one.

Not sure on the ebook thing bro....maybe try a google search. I picked it up at barnes & noble a couple of years ago. If and when you do get it I would advise having an open mind though when you read it. I never considered myself to be a spiritual person, but it definitely opened my eyes quite a bit. It really delves into some things that will make you say "wow" to yourself. Also, I think what it helps with the most is opening your eyes to your "inner chatter". After all, that is really all affirmations are is what we tell ourselves on a consistent basis. Good luck!!

i can't say that i do daily affirmations but having numerous positive experiences in my life has given me a more optimistic outlook of myself. knowing that i've overcome obstacles in life and have had success enables me to be more confident and that shows through in my interactions with men and women.

In a psychological study they got the results, that if you have a really low self-esteem, affirmations will be counter productive, which means that they will damage your mood instead of making you happier. If you already have a good self-steem though, they might work very good for you.

The explanation is, that people will low self-esteem don“t believe in their affirmations, but question them. They will have thoughts like: "I know that I am not a wonderful person. Whom am I fooling? I am boring and therefore have no friends. I wish I would be one, but that will probably never happen..." and so on.

So i guess you just try them out for yourself and see if they work. You have to try them out a few weeks though because your psyche has to adopt to it, and that takes time.
