Hey guys. I don't usually like to link to other websites about fitness since there is such a variance in opinions over what's better, but I felt that given my recent experience with what this article prescribes, that it could help you guys.
The author set out to fix the aesthetics of his chest as a whole by first activating and then overloading the upper chest in order to promote its growth. It's interesting stuff. In addition to some science, upper chest mechanics, and principles, he lays out some sample routines to help build the upper chest.
And I would really appreciate it if criticisms were made AFTER having read the article. Some people might just overlook the whole article and just say, "But the all-or-nothing principle! You can't isolate chest fibers!" You can't, but you can emphasize certain fibers depending on the angle.
As for my experience with what is prescribed, I have had a lot of success so far. My incline press (30 degrees) was wacky (I pressed with my left side more) and I learnt how to apply force evenly. My upper chest is more defined and I feel like it responds more intensely during pressing when I call upon it. I feel like I get more out of my pressing now.
I can easily contract it now without too much effort. I'm about two weeks in. I'll post the results after the entire eight weeks.
And if anyone is curious, I have been doing the Modified Svend Press and V Press using the High Frequency Routine.
I know there's a lot of information out there and a ton of ways to get things done, but I think you guys would benefit greatly if you gave this a try.
