College Living - Need a Second Opinion
I am curious how changing my living situation in college next year might influence the girls I meet. This year I have been living in a fraternity house located on a large university's campus. Living in the house is a fun experience but it's located away from most of the sororities and bars on campus. I often get the impression that girls want to come over but don't feel like dealing with the headache of getting there and back. Although it may sound contradictory, I feel like living in a fraternity is actually holding me back from expanding my social circle and meeting quality girls. My other option for housing next year is to get an apartment with a group of friends. I would appreciate any advice or suggestions on what living situation might lead to a more enjoyable and productive year.

Frats are hit and miss. They either hurt you or help you depending on your school, and the guys in the frat. Living with a few friends is great, but a lot of the same factors apply. You need to make social connections, organize outings or parties, and convince people to come over.

My roommate in my apartment my last two years of college was actually in a frat. I could see how living in a house would limit your social circle to just the Greek kids. His circle of friends definitely seemed a bit more well rounded than people I knew who joined frats and lived in the house and pretty much disappeared from my life after that. Like Mark said it's hit or miss depending on your school, I would try out living outside of the house though, you have a bit more options as far as your level of involvement at that point.

I do have to say the guys who lived above apartment in college were also in a frat and they might as well have never left the house, but they were all in the same frat, while none of our roommates were in any frats at all besides mine.
